With Dead Money installed and nothing else taking up space in your load order, the grenade's base damage is increased to 30, its spread is increased to 1.0, its attack shots/sec is increased to 0.5556, and the flag that makes non-player characters use ammo is lost.
PC Playstation 3 Xbox 360 Dead Money overrides some of the changes that have been made to the grenade launcher in previous patches. The Editor ID of the repair list for the Minigun is "RepairMinigunForRealzImSeriousGuys" even in the base game. Dead Money changes the repair list from "RepairNVGrenadeLauncher" to "RepairMinigun," which despite its Editor ID, still features only the grenade launcher in the list. The receiver and stock are misaligned in-game. The grenade launcher is based on the China Lake model grenade launcher prototype from the late 1960s. The perk Splash Damage increases the difficulty in using this weapon without injuring the user, especially at ranks 2 and 3. The grenade launcher can be a fairly hard weapon to get, as it does not appear in any overworld spawn tables. A good condition grenade launcher can be found at the top of a large, tall rock between the X-2 transmitter antenna array and Higgs Village. There is one carried by one of the caravan guards at the beginning of the trip to Zion Canyon. They can be found on some of the White Legs tribals. One can be bought from the NCR arms merchant at the 188 Trading Post. Grenade launchers can also be purchased from Daniel Contreras at the Camp McCarran supply shack or from Blake at the Crimson Caravan Company. Two of them can be found in the armory of Vault 34 in poor condition, along with some 40mm grenade ammunition. The munitions trader at Nellis hangars sells them.
Can be found at Nellis Air Force Base and on most Boomers, including Pearl. The grenade launcher can fire a total of about 495 standard rounds, the equivalent of 124 reloads, from full condition before breaking. The grenade launcher may be unwieldy to use due to its short projectile flight distance and large explosive radius.
Despite being only slightly larger than the grenade rifle, it has twice the weight. The grenade launcher is a pump-action operated weapon, firing 40mm grenades from a tubular magazine.
